I like this puma ending a lot more. It defies expectations. I like the overall look of the short, there are some great expressions from the characters, and the build up to the expected outcome is really nice. Other than some clean-up and coloring you need to do, you've got a good solid cartoon here.
Great animation, can't wait to hear it with sound, would really complete it. I would suggest that you slow down the animal attack, it jumps in too fast to recognize what just hit the kid, and I don't think you should count on your last shot as the answer. I think it would be best to make it most obvious when he attacks the kid than later.
Hey Max, your piece is really saturated with humorous gags. Both of the people as well as the animals are filled with a ton of personality. Obviously things aren't all compiled yet, but I think the sound effects will really add a lot to your piece. Chris mentioned adding a precursor to the cougar's existence - maybe just having something with the owner petting him behind the counter with only the top of his head and ears showing (in order to hide what exactly he is) could work and be a quick fix. Good luck!
I couldn't read the words when the piranha first showed up, because it was at the lower corner of the screen and went by a little quickly. maybe hold it just a little longer? no other complaints on your piece and can't wait to see the finished film!
